The Agentic Engineer

Go from vibe coding to
agentic engineering

Vibe coding gets you a demo that breaks in production. Agentic engineering is how you command tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex to ship code that is secure, correct, and actually holds.

01 / The Economics

Vibe coding looks free. It is the most expensive way to build.

A subscription and a few prompts. That is why it looks cheap. The real cost lands later: token burn from asking the model to fix its own mistakes, security holes found in production, and code nobody can safely touch.

cost per feature time / scale of the codebase → vibe coding agentic eng. past this point, the cheap way costs more cost per feature time / scale of the codebase → vibe coding agentic eng. past this point, the cheap way costs more

Past a certain point, vibe coding costs 3 to 10 times more per feature than building with discipline. The cheap way is the expensive way.

02 / The Problem

Most of that code is vibe coded. That is the problem.

Vibe coding is when you prompt an AI, accept whatever runs, and ship it without really reading it. It feels like speed. Then the bill arrives.

Security holes

Fast generation without review means fast generation of vulnerabilities. Secrets in the frontend, auth you can walk around, access controls switched off.

The 80% problem

AI nails about 80% of a feature fast. The last 20%, the edge cases, the error handling, the integration points, is exactly where it quietly gets things wrong, and exactly where real users break your app.

The maintenance tax

Six months later a bug shows up, and your engineers spend days reverse-engineering code no human ever understood.

A dumpster overflowing with tangled wires and broken code: vibe coding

what shipping without reading actually looks like

one feature, built on vibes100%
the fast 80%the 20% that breaks

Code that looks right and is quietly wrong is more dangerous than code that visibly breaks. That is the trap.

03 / The Spectrum

Vibe coding and agentic engineering are two ends of one spectrum.

Everyone uses AI now. The difference is how much structure and verification you put around it. One end accepts whatever runs. The other directs the AI inside specs, tests, and guardrails. Same tools. Completely different outcome.

At the vibe end, checking the output is optional. At the agentic end, it is the whole discipline.

04 / The Reframe

The craft did not die. It moved.

Writing code used to be the skill. That part is getting automated. What is left is worth more: deciding what to build, specifying it precisely, and judging whether the output is right.

AI does not replace your engineering. It amplifies it. Strong standards get multiplied. So do weak ones.

The most valuable engineer of the next few years is not the one who writes the most code. It is the one who directs AI the best.

05 / The Shift

This is not coming. It already happened.

In three years, coding went from typing every line to describing what you want and watching an agent build it. The old bottleneck was how fast you could write code. The new one is whether you can tell good output from output that only looks good.

85%of developers now use AI coding tools
41%of all new code is AI-generated
19%slower: experienced devs on real tasks with AI, once you count the time spent fixing its output

06 / Work With Us

Three ways to work with us

Wherever your team sits on that spectrum, the goal is the same. Move fast with AI and still ship something that holds.

Magnifying glass over a code crystal
01 · The Audit

Find out what your AI code is really costing you

What you get

  • A review of how your team actually uses AI, on your real codebase
  • A security and code-quality report, ranked by what to fix first
  • The critical fixes shipped, not just listed
  • A clear read on where you sit on the spectrum

02 · The Workshop

Train your engineers to command AI, not babysit it

What you get

  • Live, hands-on training for your engineers, on your own codebase
  • Playbooks for context setup, specs, and tests that keep the AI honest
  • Review workflows: what to check, what to never let the AI decide
  • A team that ships faster and safer after we leave

03 · Build With Us

Have it built right the first time

What you get

  • Your product built with agentic engineering, not vibes
  • Production standards from day one: tests, security, docs
  • Full handover. Your team owns and can maintain the code

07 / About

Who is teaching this

I am Parikshit Pruthi. Ten years as a software engineer, with senior engineering stints at Amazon and Microsoft. For three years I ran engineering education at Scaler and taught thousands of engineers data structures, system design, and how to think like a builder instead of a code monkey.

Now I build in production with AI every day, and I teach engineers and teams to do the same without the slop. I run my own software shop, so none of this is theory from the sidelines. It is how my team ships.

08 / The School

This is a school, not a service desk.

The Agentic Engineer is a place to level up, not just a place to hire. I am building a community of engineers who want to command these tools instead of being replaced by them, and I am putting everything I learn out in the open. The community is on the way. Get on the list and you are first in.

Stop shipping code you only hope will hold.

Whether you want your team audited, trained, or the thing built right, it starts with one conversation.
